I'm Zane! I draw cute and weird cartoons about friendship, comradery, and learning from others. My art is heavily influenced by science fiction, mythology, religion, and my cat. I like to make fun, freakish-looking characters introduced to bizarre situations through old storytelling methods of hand-drawn animation.

I grew up in a small town in Wyoming and made my way to Oregon to pursue my studies in animation, so I make works that reflect big changes and transitions. Along with the physically changing environments, I look inward for new interests and concepts to turn into entertaining illustrations or comics. I create my work to further investigate myself and my identity, as well as the evolution of myself and the people I surround myself with. As I continue to figure out the reasons I make art, I am constantly learning and documenting my growth through my drawings. My art style embraces the shakiness of my hand, and I incorporate rough and loose line art combined with the use of muted, soft color pallets to create visuals that are easy to digest while still being interesting to look at in order to imitate the styles of old children’s comics and illustrations.
